Hello all,

I've had a journal in the Flexible Squares layout for a long time. At some point last year, I let my paid account expire so I downgraded to Basic. So of course some of my background/header images in Scrapbook stopped working, I lost a lot of userpics, etc., and I can no longer access my custom layer. I'd like to try to restore some of my modifications using custom CSS, but I don't know how to start converting my LJ-hosted CSS (backed up locally) to the CSS you can paste into the box on the customization page, and what I can and cannot do as a Basic user.

Also, and this may be a philosophical or political issue, but would upgrading to Plus (temporarily or permanently) give me access to more customization features? I could probably find alternate web hosting instead of relying on Scrapbook, although having Scrapbook as a bonus would make things easier. I don't necessarily mind ads.

I looked at a few of the tutorials and I didn't see this kind of scenario covered. Maybe I should find a free layout community and then adapt one of those layouts instead. Has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks in advance!

I'm using a custom CSS with a paid account and for the past few days, the "go earlier" link on my friends page just vanished, even if it's there on my recent entries page. I tried various layouts and the problem remains.

Thanks in advance

Edit: solved!

I can address thing B that follows thing A, but I've always wondered: is it possible to address thing A that's in front of thing B? For example, right now I'm trying to get the top and bottom border to not display if the link's wrapped around an image.

I have a free plus blog: www.pure-havoc.com

I'm having a lot of really frustrating trouble trying to find a way to delete only certain header links. I've figured out how to hide all of the header links, but not just certain ones. I'd like to delete the archive link (because it's not updating properly for some reason) and the friends link and leave the recent entries and contact links.

If that isn't possible, then I'd be fine with hiding them all, but if that is the case then I need to know how a free user adds header links.

Thanks so much.

I have the following problem:

when I'm on my flist, usernames are displayed under the icons but when I access an entry it doesn't anymore (I view everything in my own layout). Is there a way to change that?

Hi there, Seems like whenever I try to change my layout I run into a problem. Probably because I don't know anything about CCS. Anyway...

I want to use this layout as a theme layer in my paid icon journal and tweek it, but when I "save & compile" I get error messages. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, I just don't know what.

The journal is [info]phlourish_icons.

layer: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layerbrowse.bml?id=39522731

If you can't see it I can convert it for you.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, all!

1) Is there a way to change/edit the font type/style of a commenter's username on the comments page? I transformed the text of the date to uppercase, but I don't want to uppercase the username. I'd like to change the username to Arial, 12px.
^ Also, will this also change the font of my username in the reply box/#qrform? If not, how would I change that?

2) Is there a way to change/edit the font type/style of the "Select:"? I want this to match with the text of the comments (Arial, 12px).

Here's a picture.

Hope someone can help me out. Thanks so much in advance. This community is awesome.
